Get ready for more Mom! CBS announced that the sitcom will return for its sixth season. The popular show follows recovering alcoholic Christy Plunkett (Anna Faris) and her complicated relationship with her mom, Bonnie (Allison Janney), who’s also a former addict.
Season after season, the show receives rave reviews, with Allison winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2014 and 2015 and earning a nomination for the same award in 2016. When will Season 6 air?
That has yet to be determined, as CBS just announced the renewal on Sunday, April 8. “Mom has been a linchpin comedy for us over the last several years,” said CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl in a statement. “It’s a fearless series that tackles provocative social issues with laughter and grace, and a large, loyal audience has followed. With gifted talents like Anna and Allison leading a great ensemble cast, and a production team headed by Chuck Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky, Nick Bakay and Gemma Baker, this series just keeps getting better.”
