While Lucifer is usually the one to make the wrong move, Chloe has made a fair share of mistakes as well. Here are her best (and worst) moments.
Lucifer’s Chloe Decker is a fearless detective who has had her ups and downs, from having the devil as her assistant to almost killing him, and then doing everything to try and protect him, it’s clear that she’s a strong character with a lot on her plate.
Her growing friendship with Lucifer over the course of the series has been great, and while Lucifer is usually the one to make the wrong move, Chloe has made a fair share of mistakes as well. Like any great character, she has as many flaws as she does good traits, and that’s just what makes her the most human thing about Netflix’s Lucifer. Here are 5 times Chloe was the best, and 5 she was the worst.
Best: Her Night Out With The Girls
It’s very rare that we get to see Chloe letting loose and having fun with her friends, so it’s always a joy when it does happen.
She goes out on a girls’ night with Ella, Maze, and Linda and they have a blast, and even get into a fight while they’re at it. It’s great to see them all interacting with each other and having a good time in the midst of all the drama.
Worst: Telling Father Kinley About Lucifer
At the start of season 4, we see Chloe comes to terms with the fact that Lucifer wasn’t lying; he really is the devil. She goes away for a while and comes back having made friends with a priest who is hellbent on destroying Lucifer and sending him back to hell.
While his threat is diminished once he’s arrested, Chloe’s decision to tell him everything she knows about Lucifer created a domino effect for the rest of the season, including him having to go back to hell.
Best: Telling Lucifer She Loves Him
One of Chloe’s best moments, and one of the best of the show so far, was when she told Lucifer that she loved him.
Sadly, she didn’t have the best timing, as Lucifer had already decided that he was going to go back to Hell. It’s a really sweet moment and a long-awaited one for fans who ship Lucifer and Chloe together.
Worst: Her Reaction To Lucifer’s Devil Form
Chloe’s reaction to Lucifer’s devil form is only natural, as that’s how anybody reacts when they interact with him in his devil form.
But, considering that Chloe is one of his closest friends, it was really hard to watch her suddenly shut herself away from him. It definitely impacted their relationship permanently.
Best: Accepting That Lucifer Is The Devil
It takes a long time for Chloe to accept that Lucifer is the devil. When he reveals his devil form to her, she doesn’t take it well, but eventually, she begins to accept that it’s just who he is.
Chloe progresses a long way, from being so afraid of him she couldn’t look at him, to finally being able to look Lucifer in the eyes while he’s in his devil form.
Worst: Trying To Get Lucifer To Drink The Poison
Chloe has made some questionable decisions over the course of the shows run, and that includes her trying to force Lucifer into drinking the vial that Father Kinley gave her.
Thankfully, she can’t do it, and Lucifer can already sense that she’s betrayed him. It was a bad idea in the first place, and it’s a good thing that Lucifer already had an idea of what was coming.
Best: Noticing Straight Away That Lucifer Was Actually Michael
At the start of season 5, Lucifer has returned to hell after demons start causing chaos on earth. He’s gone for a long time and when he finally returns, he’s not the same.
That’s because his twin brother Micheal is impersonating him. Chloe notices something is up almost right away.
Worst: Stopping Maze From Seeing Trixie
It’s a true fact that Maze is dangerous, and she probably shouldn’t be around children. However, she starts to form a close bond with Chloe’s daughter Trixie and the two soon become pretty inseparable.
Chloe lets Maze believe that Trixie is mad at her when really she isn’t because she doesn’t want them spending time together. This was a pretty awful thing to do because they had a really good friendship.
Best: Helping Lucifer Forgive Himself
In season 4, Lucifer has a slight breakdown and realizes that the reason he is the way he is is that he hates himself.
It takes Lucifer a while to come to that conclusion, but when he does he slowly starts turning into his devil form. Chloe manages to convince him that he has to forgive himself, and thankfully it works.
Worst: Almost Marrying Pierce
In season 3, Chloe gets into a relationship with Marcus Pierce, who is then revealed to be Caine.
He has it out for Lucifer for the whole series, but things do get serious with him and Chloe. She gets engaged and has a bachelorette party for it, but the whole thing feels a little bit too rushed and out of character for her.
