What’s it about
So far, so good and as of the 17th of October the Season Pass packages are available.
Rebels seems to continue to be both a bridge and an olive branch. Bringing into the continuing story both characters from the Clone Wars series and a chosen few from Legends, such as Grand Admiral Thrawn. Further the show also finds away to integrate even the original conceptual art for A New Hope, for example one of the main crew members, Zeb Orrelios, is based upon one of the earliest conceptual sketches for Chewbacca.
It’s funny how Disney has managed to do what so many franchise fail to do, namely respect the heart of what made the core fans so loyal, while still allowing the writers freedom and attracting new fans as well.
This season is top notch Star Wars. It’s everything good about the last three seasons and more. It’s the type of thing I can sit down to watch with my preteen sister and middle aged father and all three of us love it equally, as Star Wars should be.
The last couple of episodes that have come out have been on par with the magic of the Star Wars movies in so many ways. Such a deep connection to fictional characters is so rare and hard to achieve, but with the beautiful animation and perfect music and wonderful writing/acting, I’d say this season is very possibly my favorite Star Wars thing to ever exist. I’m going to bawl when it’s over.
I’ve waited months to see the final season because I’ve been on deployment and not able to watch it. I liked this entire series because there wasn’t many if any “episodes” because it seemed like everything was there for a reason and Season 4 was no different.
I was quite pleased how they tied up all the loose ends and the last two episodes are the most heart-felt of all… I didn’t see that coming but I wasn’t disappointed because it felt real and not cheated… Dave Filoni and his team did a great job with this project… we even have closure with Clone Wars which was desperately needed… They did a great job keeping the story real and true… I couldn’t have asked for a better story or ending… well done.
I really enjoyed how they avoided getting into the weeds of merging with “Rogue One” and “A New Hope” by just sticking to the program of being who they are and everything will workout in the big picture.
At the end of the last episode they leave it open for another story and I hope they pick it up there because I loved that team and this would play very well into the “original” story and probably heal the hemorrhage with the new stories.
