Nurse Jenny Lee arrives at Nonnatus House in London’s East End to begin her work as a midwife. Naive and unused to the harsh conditions of the borough, she must rise above her misgivings if she is to succeed in her new role.

Call the Midwife, Season 2

Nonnatus House is alive with preparations for Christmas. Chummy is arranging a nativity play with the Cub Scouts, Jenny is faced with a difficult case, and a young girl’s predicament leads to a big decision.

Call the Midwife, Season 3

Nonnatus House and the surrounding area is evacuated when an unexploded bomb is found nearby. Meanwhile, Shelagh has doubts about her wedding to Patrick, and Jenny and Trixie help a man who is suffering from shell shock. Now dating surveyor Alec, Jenny joins the other midwives in their superior new base, along with latest recruit, Sister Winifred. Jenny is concerned for Merle and Billy, a young couple whose infant boys are permanently ill, causing them to doubt their parenting skills, whilst added is stress provided by the fact that Billy’s brother died as a toddler. Surprisingly, Sister Monica Joan accidentally provides Dr. Turner with the solution to the children’s complaints, thus saving them.

Call the Midwife, Season 4

As Christmas approaches, Chummy and Trixie are organizing a concert. Meanwhile, Patsy takes a pair of pregnant girls to a mother-and-baby home which proves to be ill run, and Cynthia is conflicted about her future. A new midwife arrives at Nonnatus House, and finds it hard to fit into her new role. Meanwhile, Chummy moves into the mother-and-baby home, Trixie helps a young boy in terrible need, and Sister Evangelina is in denial about her illness.

As Christmas approaches, an outbreak of measles hits Poplar. Meanwhile, Tom receives an intriguing offer from the BBC, a face from Patsy’s past returns, and Sister Monica Joan goes missing. As Easter approaches, the nuns prepare for celebrations, while Trixie is taken up with a new exercise class, Patsy awaits Delia’s decision, and the group are shaken by the birth of a severely deformed baby.

Call the Midwife, Season 6

A group from Nonnatus House travels overseas in order to assist a struggling clinic in South Africa. The Nonnatus House staff face great change, Phyllis and Barbara help a battered wife, while Sister Mary Cynthia becomes increasingly fragile. An explosion at the docks badly affects the husband of a new mother, Patsy feels under pressure, and Sister Ursula continues to test the patience of everyone at Nonnatus House.

Call the Midwife, Season 7

As the year comes to an end, Poplar faces unprecedented and relentless wintry conditions, which pose a challenge to the occupants of Nonnatus House and the community at large. As the Big Freeze of 1963 continues, Nonnatus House welcomes their newest midwife, while contending with the effects of the weather.

Call the Midwife, Season 8

As Christmas approaches, Sisters Julienne and Winifred are called to the Mother House, where important decisions must be made. Meanwhile, Trixie returns from Italy, and the midwives help with a difficult birth. As two new nuns join Nonnatus House, a shocking case exposes the seedier side of Poplar, while a complicated birth tests Trixie and Phyllis.

Call the Midwife, Season 9

The midwives answer the call for medical help in the Outer Hebrides. In January 1965, a diphtheria outbreak sweeps through Poplar and Mother Mildred seeks to help a distraught woman who abandoned her newborn. Sister Julienne intervenes in the case of a pregnant prostitute, a family’s plan to leave Poplar are up in the air when a mysterious illness strikes, and Sgt. Woolf faces a health crisis of his own.

    I give it four stars for these reasons;
    1) Although the quality of the video & sound is excellent, your ad is a little deceiving. It does not come as a “Box set”, it’s 9 individual containers, each holding 1 season.
    3) It was a gift for my wife, not me and she likes them. Hopefully all the shows are here.
